The ‘GAY DAY’ works all explore the homosexuals’ battle for fairness and equality. The works
were drawn from old photographs, taken from the 1970′s and early 80′s, a time when homosexuality was seemingly less accepted and immoral.
The banners convey strength from a time when there was little hope.
Taking these people away from their time period and into ours. Notice now how they stand alone,
forcing them into a sense of vulnerability, despite what’s written on the banners which they hide behind.
This solitude reminds us of the importance of community, without it stability cannot be achieved nor upheld.
